Because only Halo Wars vehicles were in Halo Wars, despite the lore behind the vehicles.

 

I don't know what it is with Halo fans, but their speculations are always the silliest.

Some were in Spartan Assault. And a few were mentioned in some of the books I believe.

I really wish we get to see the hawk again, that thing was beast. Along with the Gremlin, the Cobra (i didn't like that transformers esque thing) and Locust again.

More on the Cobra, where the hell does that 3rd barrel come from? Apart from that, it was great.

I agree but it does beg the question at least as far as the lore is concerned why none of the Halo Wars UNSC vehicles appear in the original games or books (with the exception of the Hawk- first mention in FOR, first seen in HW), I'd always assumed the scource of their production was lost when the planet it was based on was glassed but now thanks to the possible return of the SOF these units can now be upgraded and integrated into the current ranks of the UNSC forces.

Cobras were badass. Fully upgraded, like 4 or 5 of them could take out a Scarab in second. Pack a wolverine in there and they were practically unbeatable.

Did Vultures ever make it outside of Halo Wars? I had a thing for those too.

True but I was mostly refering to the Halo lore, that includes the books as well as the games, if halo wars units turned up in future halo fps games it would be less about boots on the ground and more about death shooting kill-mobiles with the likes of the vulture, wolverine cobra and rhino units. Since HW their have been no sign of these vehicles in either Reach, 4, legends, kilo 5 trilogy, and the later comic series until Escalation (did I miss anything?) so it would appear that early in the war the UNSC somehow lost the means to manufacture these specialised units or just phased them out and focused more on the cost effective Scorpions, Warthogs, Pelicans. Same thing happend to ship manufacture, constuction on additional cruiser class ships ceased in favor of mass producing the smaller frigate and destroyer classes. Guess they needed smaller, fast, manouverable and quick/cheap to build ships, if they just stuck to cruisers they would have very few finished with the rest still being built by the time the covies invaded,.

One of three things.
1. The military equipment on some worlds differs with others, for example the troops stationed at earth (H2/3) differs greatly from those at reach (H reach) and the colonies (H4).
2. As you said the warthog, pelican and scorpion were good enough for what they did and could easily be re purposes to perform other duties. Misrah would throw thousands of these out. An example of this would be Britain in The second Great War, halting production of the Stirling bomber in favor of the cheaper Wellington. And America phasing out the M1928 tommy gun, for the M1 Thompson and the m1s being supplemented with m3 grease guns.
3. They did in fact stay in service with more professional pre war units, whilst newer conscripted units, are equipped with the supplements or perhaps visa versa. With older units getting older equipment, only getting new equipment when it was better, whilst newer units get junk equipment. Similar with how pre second Great War british units were equipped with tommy guns and no.4 rifles whilst conscripted units used SMLE no,3 rifles and sten guns. BTW the British army still uses this system.

No, because HW took place 20 years before the Halo event and we haven't heard of those vehicles until 343i decided to pop 'em back in with a mini-Halo arcade game.

 

However, mine was a speculation. I obviously don't know if it is going to be the SoF or whatelse. But there are many hints leading to a possible return of it, considering that 343i loves to put references of old Halo games everywhere but in the most important sequel.

Most likely the reason why different units haven't been introduced at least in the bungie trilogy and games is that they had already established their units and roles and they were reusing and updating assets from previous games as most developers do.

It isn't about the SoF being the only ship building those units. It's about those units being involved only in Halo Wars.

 

Of course it is silly to think something like that, but given the amount of hints that 343i gave us last year, this was a solid speculation.

Well, Sparrowhawks and Vultures make a return but are considered very old and obsolete during the Infinity's time.

Lasky starts hunting for a mole and we learn he knows a reporter who might be able to help, however she wants to meet John. Possible MC inclusion  in one of the upcoming Escalation comics?
 
Hood has some history with the Spirit of Fire:

"Don't waste your time, son. I know all there is to know about the Spirit of Fire. I'm the reason they went missing."

I have some theories on this:
1) It is unlikely (at least in my mind) that Hood would be an Admiral when SoF went missing at Arcadia so it could be something along the lines of Hood was Captain of the Autumn at the time and ,in some before now unknown dialogue, he talks to Cutter about his leaving to purse the covvies.

2a) An alternative is that the UNSC found SoF, or at least its general vicinity, but Hood decided to abandon it and list it as KIA.

2b) Another version of this is that there was some battle involving the SoF/UNSC and covvies but when things start going bad Hood makes a tactical decision to retreat and since the SoF doesn't have a jump drive it gets left behind and assumed destroyed. Hood feels ashamed and so he covers up the battle and lists the SoF KIA as it would look bad abandoning Cutter, someone he has previously had bad dealings with and might lead to people questioning Hood's motives. This could also add some history to Hood and Parangosky's relationship as she may of helped him cover it up, being the head of ONI and all.
