Im installing this mod correctly, unzipping the file and all of that. Its just not working, im enabling the mod and applying the changes but its not working. Can i get some pointers?

List out the file directory for your mod folder (the file path). The game recently updated from 1.80 to 1.82, which has caught a lot of people off guard. Also, the mod is only for Rebellion.

So I've downloaded the mod, located the folder. And extracted everything.

 

When I open up the mod folder I see 

Galaxy

GameInfo

Mesh

Movie

Particle

PipelineEffect

Sound

String

TextureAnimations

Textures

Window

And some MANIFEST Files

 

And when I open SOASE, and go to mods. I see not one mod to enable. But I still see all the folders which is named above.

For instance.

 

Enable - Galaxy

Enable- Gameinfo

 

 

And so on, is this supposed to be that way. Or is it supposed to be one mod to enable? 

 

In that case, what do I do?

What folder did you put it in exactly?

Hehe i think he took everything out of the original folder and put the individual contents into the mod folder

What you need to do is take all that stuff you put in the mods folder and make a new folder(assuming you deleted the original) name it SotP or sumsuch and put all that stuff into that new folder put it back into the mods rebellion 1.82 folder.

You're very likely installing it into the 1.80 mod folder, which is now outdated. You need to follow the instructions here more closely so you can create the other folder.

I'm having a problem as well, I did everything right but when I enable the mod and click apply sins stops working altogether

FIrst off, are you on a legal version of Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion? Second, are you updated to 1.82? If both of those are true then I would recommend reinstalling both the mod and the game. Of course, more information as to your installation strategy would be nice.

Look it over exacty, and make absolutely sure you didn't skip a step. I'm not joking here...

Just enable the mod through the enabledmods.txt instead.

There is a blank line below that last line, which is critical. It'll fail without it. Obviously put the mod folder name in as well.

We can't really support pirated versions. That would be walking a very fine line, and given the fact that it's really very cheap to get, especially during a sale, there isn't really a need to pirate it.

yea i undertsand but like i said erlier i cant buy it cuz i dont have a way to and my parents wont let me use they credit card. thx anyway guys great support ! =)

If you have cash, you can buy a steam wallet card and buy it with that.

Official position of the mod is that we do not support piracy and we do not trouble shoot for pirated copies of the game. If someone doesn't like that feel free to make a passive aggressive status update about it, but the mod leadership:

A: Thinks if you enjoy a game enough to mod it you should buy it.

B: Doesn't need the potential legal trouble even if it's only a 1% chance. 1% danger is too high to cater to theft.

@uni - you can probably keep the info about how to get the Steam card. That's a good option for those who have no access to a credit card

Sorry for being such a pain, but i enabled my computer to watch hidden folders but the appdata folder doesnt seem to appear either way, i even re-downloaded the mod from the link in the description and when i enabled the mod the game freezed, i waited for hours and nothing happened, not even a "Loading" sequence, then i got out of the game and more than half of my screen was pitch black, finally this error boxes started appearing on the dark side of the screen saying that there was some script or txt. error and that the txt. couldnt be found and it had to be completed. Please, could you tell me what may i did wrong? I have windows 8 installed, does it affects it?

Sorry - I'm not really sure what's going on here.

First: If you're installing for rebellion, you don't need AppData. You need to go to the directory under My Documents.

Second: You have debug errors on somehow. What exactly do the errors say? I need the exact wording.

Last: I play on Windows 8 quite fine, that's not a problem.
