So I just finished installing the mod and when I try to change from Random race selection, the game crashes with a minidump. When I load into game without changing race, the GUI looks messed up, currently reinstalling the mod so hopefully it works this time.

Redownload, something got fucky during the transfer.

Installed mod, went to activate it and it loads normal sins, doesn't do anythin with checksum. downloaded it from moddb, though trying the other download link when the servers let me.

Sorry for being such a pain, but i enabled my computer to watch hidden folders but the appdata folder doesnt seem to appear either way, i even re-downloaded the mod from the link in the description and when i enabled the mod the game freezed, i waited for hours and nothing happened, not even a "Loading" sequence, then i got out of the game and more than half of my screen was pitch black, finally this error boxes started appearing on the dark side of the screen saying that there was some script or txt. error and that the txt. couldnt be found and it had to be completed. Please, could you tell me what may i did wrong? I have windows 8 installed, does it affects it?

Are you using a legal version of the mod updated to 1.82? Don't lie because your problem will never get solved otherwise. Pirated copies of games usually have a slew of problems with modding. Where is your appdata folder? Should be something like C:\Users\Kyle\AppData. Not sure why you need that anyhow, though. Make sure you put the mod in C:\Users\Kyle\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\Mods-Rebellion v1.82. Lastly, I'm on Windows 8 so that isn't a factor.

Right Inside the SOTP file there may be another SOTP file, extract that and move it to the mod folder. If that persists try this link instead http://www.nexusmods...empire/mods/13/

Yep. Testing it in a minute. That's what caught me.. it was activating a folder, not the mod .

I have problems with the moddb release.

The nexus release is larger for some reason, and it works.

Check again to see if you have taken the Sotp folder outside of the SOTP folder, enabling the outer folder will not enable the inner folder, but will trick the game into thinking there is something installed.

I have done that, but when I activate it there is a minidump error.  Nexus servers are too busy.

 

UPDATE: Mod is up and running and fucking beautiful.

SotP comes in zip file, in that zip file is a folder, and in that folder is another folder for the mod, make sure that is the one you activated

Thanks man, but any idea how I might fix the missing files? Now that I've activated the correct folder, it just does a mini dump and sins won't launch :/

How did you activate it? In-game or with the text file?

When in doubt, redownload.

I've downloaded the mod 3 times and each time the game minidumps when I enable the mod and it starts to load it. I have a legal copy and have followed the instructions that came with the mod after the first try didn't work with the usual method. Suggestions, tips?

 

Edit: Now tried the one from Nexus mods, but I'm still having the same issue.

Are you putting the right folder in the mod folder?

I am indeed. Mods folder for v1.82

Inside the first sotp folder is the actual mod, make sure thats the one youre putting in the rebellion folder.
