There's no plan yet, we're just about to start on art assets for the Forerunners to my knowledge, but Defender could probably spit some ideas at you that may or may not be in the final product because right now Dianno's put him in charge of designing them.

All im gonna say is, sentinels. Lots and lots of sentinels.

On the note of forerunners. Are they going to have ships (cap ships etc.) that will be bigger then the biggest covenant and UNSC ships? This to me would make the most sense as they created the halos, shield worlds, slip-space portal (in SotP of course). They were known to go big or go home.

i would imagine that the ships wont be exactly scale as some forerunner ships were on the same scale as the plot device supercarrier. But i would also imagine that the average forerunner capital ship would be the same size as the assault carrier, if not bigger

Alright, thanks, I figured there wasn't much yet but I'm a terribly curious about them so...... yeah. Are we thinking of sentinels are strike craft, or will some of the larger varieties count towards the population cap?

Don't quote me here but I think the plan is to have sentinels as strike craft and have things like the 45 configuration as frigates/cruisers. The only 'real' ships will be the cap ships from what I've been told, they will be pretty damn big.

Look at the page on Moddb if you go back far enough you'll see a Forunner battleship and what it's capable of doing.... But you'll have to look for it ;-)

God. You people make me feel so old about that sort of stuff. Doesn't feel that long ago to me at all.

 

As for the Forerunners, they've always been able to be summed up in 2 different parts:

1) Spammable Frigates/Sentinels

2) Steamroller Capital Ships

Yeah ive given defender guide lines to follow in order to make sure that all the factions are different or at least semi different. UNSC is kind of middle of the road on fighters, warships and capital ships. Covenant have strong warships, specialized capitals and not alot of fighters. Forerunners would be more fighters (im considering the idea that their "frigates" are glorified fighter craft) and badass capital ships with not alot of classic warships.  Right now were discussing economic balancing and design which is what they sorely need along with at tech tree redo

Forerunner fortress class- 100km (Human/Forerunner war- 50km varient)

Covenant plot device Super Carrier- 27km

The super carrier isnt even on the same scale but u are correct though, it would be advised we dont have the sins engine howling in agony by hurling several game domain breaching game models, safe to say all the 7km plus ships will have to be taken in a little,

hell even ^this^ is a narrow view of the Forerunners build scale especially when u get into the planet and enclosed planetary orbit construction sizes
