The one on the left was based heavily off the spartan laser. Would be curious to see if we could ever incorporate it into that role somehow.

its a MAC defense network, using MACs similar to the Onager from reach

And in canon the primary weapon of just about every UNSC ship frigate cruiser or carrier was a Double or single MAC.

Also, I guess I could see it in canon as an experimental ship. The more important question is "where would we put it?" All the cap ship roles are pretty much taken - there's not really somewhere we could put a super-awesome-lazorcannonship class

Just for what I am imagining as an epic weapon effect. Have the barrel spark and charge erratically, then just as it reaches its apogee a bolt of crimson streaks across the very stars, piercing the heavens. Also a awesome sound effect based of the games one...

Defender we've never seen those in combat outside SOTP.
Infinity looks like it has some energy projectors, as witnessed when cackling the mantle approaches hull.

The Valiant, Supercarrier and as far as I know the Athens are all canon ships.
