Yes, and that's only one planet down Centurian. I'd send deserve battlegroups forward too.

Nevik maybe cut down on the Mako and Charon spam. Paris too.

Might have to nerf the supercarrier in light of that. About how long does it take you to get to that point?

I wouldn't suggest nerfing the carrier so much as doubleing or trippleing the price (seeing how the Cradle is of comporable price and the Orion is actually more expensive for less bang for your buck). On three planets with no economy upgrades I could churn one out every four minutes or so after getting the research for it, and a single flood attack was enough to get them to a reasonably high level. If left well enough alone (which I generally am when on only three planets in a > 2 player game) within a relativly small amout of time, I've got six of the things and a large supporting fleet of cannonfodder frigates.

As for what happens when I'm attacked on multiple planets? Well, the past two games I've used that composition I've only had 3-4 planets, so I can generally get the fleet back in time. Most of the time I just let them try - my planets typically have massive minefields augmented by saber hangerbays a starbase with hangers and several MACs. The veritable swarm of longswords coupled with the fleet-decimating minefields is usually enough to seriously discourage any attacks. If they do manage to deal with my defences with prowlers and mako's I just scuttle everything in orbit, abandon the planet and take whatever one my fleet is currently at to replace it. I do however try to keep a small secondary fleet on patroll near my planets to help boost my defences when attacked, however, since abondoning even a single planet pretty much kills my economy.

nukes, thats all you need, a good 2 nukes can wipe the entire fleet, and a perfect nuke can do the same

Flood are easy to beat late game. The first game I played with flood I was 'Dear Christ, please flood don't attack' So I stayed away the entire game and nearing the end I was expanding my trade route. Decided I'd try to fight them. Jumped in and fudged them up. Anti climatic.

when you can MAC them into obvlivion in one volley, it tends to not get frightening

Great feedback, Ulmont. I'd have to agree with you on increasing the price. Seems the only real problem with the supercarrier is how quickly you can produce them, now that you've explained things.

The supecarrier seems to perform in its role perfectly, its just that its so easy to get that its OP for being cheap, not because of firepower

i recommended a different way to research it in another thread that should help balance it

Supercarrier nerfed:

credits 10000.000000
metal 2000.000000
crystal 500.000000
BuildTime 120.000000

I'll have Makon take a look at the research as well, but this is at least a start.

Yeah, the research is too cheap for the supercarrier, it only needs 2400 credits, around 500 metal, and 600 crystal (metal and crystal rounded up) to research it, and this is including prerequisite research

crystal 500.000000

I was thinking about this earlier today, and it occurred to me that people may just end up selling crystal to get credits, and then buy metal. Would it be better to make the crystal cost something between 1000 and 1500?
