So the moral of the story is..... an SMAC station would make an amazing planet buster?

lemme put it this way

why it is not known exactly what would happen, there is a good chance that if an SMAC round hit the surface of earth, the planets crust would crack

Tell that to Halo: Reach.

Tell that to Halo: Reach.

if you watch the round, which is clearly visible, its going at a very slow velocity. no where near the 12,000 Kmps that the SMAC is capable of

Well it's an SMAC round, so I'm not sure what to tell you.

3000 metric tons is 3000 metric tons, that will go through a ship without shields with no trouble at all, and will definitely set it off balance

I wasn't contesting that. The round probably loses a ton of kinetic energy in reentry anyhow, so I doubt its as powerful as it would be in orbit. I don't think it'd crack the planet, though.

I haven't exactly taken phycics lessons, but wouldn't the speed gained by gravity increase the kintic energy?

Too lazy to explain, here.

Also, take Chief jumping from Truth's ship as an example. Son of a bitch had to slow down a fair bit.

Two words. Terminal. Velocity.

On an unrelated note, why are m.* domains still a thing? Shouldn't that be taken care of by JavaScript/dynamic content/responsive design?

Don't think that's hardly a proper article for ballistic re-entry.

So we're all willing to read and do math right?

Well it's an SMAC round, so I'm not sure what to tell you.

It was fired with a significantly slower speed, which in turn kills the shell's kinetic energy. If the SMAC fired at full blast, you better believe it's going to wreak your ass.

The point is it's a giant hunk of tungsten. I don't think it matters how fast its going at that point.

Which the SMAC stat about smashing planets in the first place was irrelevant to the topic. Your point?

So back to the Covie capital.

How 'bout an ability that would "boost morale" similar to finest hour.

Voice of the Prophet -- engine/shield/firepower boost to all Covenant forces within range of the Prophet's voice.
